Origin Story
Wakata was born from the frustration of seeing good people slowed down by bad tools.
Our founder, Emmy-Clare spent over a decade in design and construction, then Service Design - from gas fields to solar farms, from site diaries to compliance systems. That experience exposed a gap: the tools meant to help frontline teams were often designed by people who'd never done the job.
Wakata exists to close that gap.

Why Wakata?
Wakata comes from the Japanese word Wakatta (わかった) - a casual way to say "I see" or "I get it."

We wanted a name that was simple, global, and easy to say - no matter where you're from. Something real, not made-up. And yes, it rhymes with data.
